Using our phone demo you can download here the following sequence gives a graphic illustration of some of the concepts listed on the previous page. In the initial stage, the main phone screen is shown. Gradient-filled, rounded icon buttons, and multi-layer alpha-blended graphics with true-aliased text highlight the screen. Selecting a button produces a swell/glow that activates the next screen. The new screen 'wipes' over the old one and and buttons 'explode' away, demonstrating some screen transitions.

The new screen has more examples of blending and multi-layer graphics, along with a scrolling gradient button list. Note that the colors and fonts could all be changed at runtime using different 'themes' or 'skins'. Selecting the 'Home' button returns to the initial screen, this time with the buttons 'imploding' back into position.

The map screen shows how text (and graphics, if desired) can be positioned at any angle over any background. Buttons are semi-transparent over the map, and the sliding movement of the underlay is controlled via the mouse. Using multiple layers in hardware assists in keeping the map movement, button scrolling, screen transitions, etc. smooth.
